Aftercare

Do not pick, soak, or scratch your fresh tattoo. Itching and localized heat are normal. You can lightly slap your tattoo if the itching is unbearable.

Leave the Saniderm on for up to 5 days. If any part of the tattoo becomes exposed, take off the Saniderm and begin the rest of the aftercare process. When it is time to remove the Saniderm, remove it slowly in the shower under warm running water. Immediately wash it with Dial Gold Antibacterial Soap following the instructions below.

After the Saniderm is removed, wash the tattoo 3 times daily with Dial Gold Antibacterial Soap and very warm water, lathering the soap with only your hands, using small circular motions. While in the shower, wash around the tattoo first, then wash the tattoo last with the same Dial soap.

Let the tattoo air dry after each wash. Washing with a cloth or towel can infect or damage your tattoo. Once the tattoo is fully air-dried, apply Aveeno Non-Fragrance Lotion. You may use lotion as needed throughout the day.

Avoid pools, beaches, jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms, or anything similar during these first two weeks after the Saniderm. Do not pick at scabs on your tattoo. Let them flake off naturally.
